Mia laughs!

It's been quite a busy little while. There's lots I could say about life the last several weeks, but it's after midnight and the bambina is asleep, and I should be too. However, I was able to capture some fun times with her tonight on my camera phone. Check out this never-seen-before footage!

PS: I promise she doesn't stay in the bouncy seat all day, although from our pictures you may think so. She just loves it there and is very calmed by the by its movement so it's a good transitional spot for her at home.

Babies & Giveaways!

It seems everywhere I look babies are being born right and left. Part of it is that my mind is now more attuned to babies. I wasn't looking for them before, but now that I have one, I'm so much more aware of their presence & existence. This is called perceptual salience!!
The other thing is is that within the timespan of August 2008 to September 2009, Lord Willing, at least 11 babies will have been born at our church congregation (mostly boys though...Mia, watch out!). Incredible. Last I counted, we had about 6 decent rocking chairs/gliders in the nursery, plus some spare chairs on the side. Heaven forbid the time when all the babies have to be in there for one thing or another...it'll be crazy! But, at least Mia will have tons of little peers with whom she can grow up and socialize.

And in reference to the giveaway, an online acquaintance (whose sister I do know "in real life") is throwing a giveaway on her blog for these awesome swaddlers.

We have become major "Happiest Baby on the Block" proponents, and without swaddling, I'm almost certain life with Mia would look quite different! So...I'm very pro-swaddle.

Well, here's to babies, and here's to keeping them calm.
I bid you adieu!
